Testing was done on a color detection application called "Color Name AR" found in the iOS store.  Results show that the application worked well determining colors and thus it is considered as an alternative for the colorimetric sensor that would also double up as a data transmitter.  The left axis shows the relative brightness of the environment, while the right axis shows the relative clarity (lack of blue) of the samples. For example, the sample with brightness of 1 was the darkest blue, and the environment of brightness 1 was a dark room illuminated with only light shone into the sample.(Data is shown as images below).
